Lucky Number 13

On the 13th day of September, 13 students gathered to graduate as the 13th class from the CNA Training Academy. With all those unlucky 13s stacked against them, one couldn’t be faulted for thinking that this could have been a bad omen for this class. However, this group took those 13s and turned them into fortune.

For the first time, every student who started with this class graduated with the class. In addition, every student passed their certification test on the first attempt! Another first for a CNA Training Academy class.

The CNA Training Academy, jointly supported by the Senior Care Network and LSS, prepares CNAs through classroom learning and hands-on training. Students apply for positions at LSS communities and upon passing their state certification test and completing the course become CNAs.

Classes at the CNA Training Academy are still enrolling! If you or someone you know would be a good fit for this fulfilling position, visit the job opportunities page of the LSS website (LSSLiving.org) to learn more about applying for the Nurse Assistant in Training program to take part in the CNA Training Academy. While the CNA Training Academy is located in St. Louis, interested employees at LSS communities in mid-Missouri and central Illinois have opportunities to receive their certification through other programs. Visit the job opportunities page to learn more.
