Tech Talk Tuesday: Helpdesk to the Rescue!

Keyboard broken? Forgot your password? What is a “server error,” anyway?

All of these situations are frustrating and inconvenient, but the LSS Information Technology team is here to rescue you!

  • During normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm) you can contact the IT Helpdesk via phone (314-446-2400) or email (helpdesk@lssliving.org). Your phone call or email will be answered by one of our dedicated IT Technicians, who will work with you to resolve your request.
  • If it is after business hours (Monday – Friday after 4:30pm but before 8:00am, all day on Saturday & Sunday, and LSS observed holidays) and the issue is not time-sensitive, you can call the helpdesk phone number and listen for the prompt to leave a message for the next day, or send an email to helpdesk@lssliving.org, and someone will get back to you during the next business day.

Sometimes, the issue is a little more complicated or specialized, so the technician may escalate the ticket to another IT team member with more specific knowledge. This would include our Analysts, who specialize in systems such as Vision & LSSLink, or the Network team, who makes sure our communities stay digitally connected.

We know there are dedicated LSS staff that care for our residents outside normal business hours, and sometimes you can’t wait until the next business day.  That is why there is always an IT Technician, Analyst, & Network Specialist on-call and available to help.

  • Simply call the Helpdesk phone number (314-446-2400) and listen for the prompt to page the on-call technician. The message will alert one of the on-call staff, and they will follow up with you to make sure you are able to continue to focus on care and quality, instead of struggling with a program or device.
    Do not send an email after business hours if the issue is time-sensitive. Emails are not monitored by on-call staff.
  • Clearly state your full name, community, neighborhood (if applicable), and call back number. This is so important! We can’t help you if we don’t know who you are, where you are, or how to contact you.
  • Give a short summary of the issue you are experiencing.  If you struggle with accurately describing an issue, try saying what you are trying to accomplish, and what barriers you are encountering.

Technology can be challenging, but you are not alone. The IT helpdesk is just a bat-signal away.
